rGLOBE was founded by Lourdes Sanchez-Espinell in 2013 as a multidisciplinary design studio with a strong interest in the value, power, and beauty of the built work and its lasting effect on our context, our social and our urban life.
Working in New York since 1997, she moved to London in 2004 to join the office of Pritzker Prize winning architect Zaha Hadid, where she led work for a number of projects including the Guangzhou Opera House and the winning entry for the Dubai Opera House and Hotel competition.
Her experience includes Hospitality, Luxury Residential, Mixed-Use, Cultural and Entertainment. She has been involved in and led projects in China, Russia, the US, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
Sanchez-Espinell has taught at FIU, Columbia University Barnard College and has adjudicated at Columbia University, Columbia Barnard College, The University of Brighton, UK and Florida International University among other institutions. She holds a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University and a Professional Degree in Architecture from Syracuse University.
rGLOBE specializes in Hospitality, Mixed-Use, Commercial and Custom Residential projects. We bring together our passion and knowledge of architecture towards formulating thoughtful propositions that consider evolving technologies, location, economic imperatives, environmental necessities and functional integrity while devising both the architectural object and the experience of space.
