The proposed installation of a temporary pavilion aims to find resonance with the changing criteria of architecture while also seeking relevance within the context of multiple urban locations. It will serve as a showcase for emerging and potential discourses in art and architecture, their materiality, adopted technologies and evolving directions. After its display, its parts will be disassembled and dispersed about the city's parks, playgrounds and other public spaces.
The installation will find its most fertile territory during Art Basel 09 and the related events. We take as precedence the successes of The Serpentine Pavilion, PS1 , and Tent London, which have succeeded in presenting shifting conceptions of the related field while generating a wider interest in and understanding of (art and) architecture.
