Continuing our explorations on the use of screening in tropical and subtropical climates, we created a screen with a seemingly random pattern which we made part of the home's enclosure walls. A light filtering devise, the screen provides both privacy and intricate lighting patterns to quietly enhance interior perceptions of space. Using code required volumetric interruptions as an opportunity, we inserted reflecting pools and fenestration between volumes to enable greater understanding of the project's massing from interior vantage points. The use of soft curves borrows from contextual historical references.
